A car exploded Monday near New Delhi’s Red Fort, killing at least eight people and injuring several others. Flames spread to nearby vehicles, triggering chaos in the area. Police cordoned off the scene while rescue teams evacuated the injured and secured the site.

    Firefighters Respond Quickly

City fire services dispatched multiple engines after the explosion near a Red Fort metro station gate. Firefighters battled the blaze and prevented further damage to surrounding vehicles. Emergency crews worked alongside police to control the situation and assist victims.

    Witnesses Report Shock and Destruction

Residents described a “window-shattering sound” followed by flames engulfing multiple vehicles. The Red Fort, a former imperial palace and major tourist site, stood behind a police perimeter as investigators examined the blast site. Police spokesman Sanjay Tyagi confirmed the casualties and said authorities are probing the cause of the explosion.
