The Premier League has approved requests from Arsenal and Crystal Palace to move their league games the weekend before they meet in the Carabao Cup quarter-finals on 23 December.

Originally set for Sunday 21 December, Arsenal’s trip to Everton and Palace’s game at Leeds will now both be played at 8pm on Saturday 20 December.

Palace, who host KuPS in the Conference League on 18 December, sought the change to allow more recovery time before facing Arsenal at the Emirates.

The Premier League said player welfare was the main reason for the adjustment and thanked Leeds United and Everton for their cooperation. Both rescheduled games will still be shown live on Sky Sports.
