The founder of Microsoft, Bill Gates, told members of Congress that convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein may have been considering ways to pressure him using information about his extramarital affairs, according to testimony released by lawmakers.

The Bill Gates Blackmail Claim emerged from a transcript of Gates’ closed-door appearance before the House Oversight Committee on June 10. During the testimony, Gates answered questions about his past association with Epstein and his understanding of Epstein’s actions.

According to the transcript, Gates said he believed Epstein had explored the possibility of using personal information against him. However, Gates stressed that he was never actually blackmailed and never received any direct threats from Epstein.

During questioning, Gates described what he viewed as indirect or “veiled” attempts that appeared to suggest a possible plan for future pressure. He said documents and draft communications released during investigations into Epstein’s activities gave him that impression.

Gates explained that after reviewing certain emails, he believed Epstein may have been considering ways to use knowledge of his personal life to maintain influence over him. However, Gates emphasized that no message meeting the definition of blackmail was ever sent to him.

The Bill Gates Blackmail Claim became public after the House committee released the testimony transcript. The documents provide additional details about Gates’ relationship with Epstein, which has faced scrutiny for several years.

Gates testified that his interactions with Epstein began in 2011. At that time, Epstein had already pleaded guilty to prostitution-related charges involving minors several years earlier. Gates acknowledged during the hearing that he was aware Epstein had legal problems but said he did not fully understand the details of those crimes.

According to Gates, he initially believed Epstein could help attract funding for global health initiatives. The billionaire philanthropist has long focused on health, disease prevention, and development projects through the Gates Foundation.

During the testimony, Gates admitted that he should have investigated Epstein’s criminal history more carefully before associating with him. He stated that while he knew the conviction involved sexual misconduct, he did not fully examine the specifics at the time.

The Bill Gates Blackmail Claim follows comments Gates made earlier this year during an interview in which he described his connection to Epstein as a major mistake. In that interview, Gates acknowledged past extramarital relationships but denied any involvement in Epstein’s criminal activities.

Epstein died in prison in 2019 while awaiting trial on federal sex trafficking charges. His death and the subsequent release of court records and investigative documents have continued to generate public interest and legal scrutiny.

Numerous public figures have appeared in documents connected to Epstein over the years. Legal experts have repeatedly noted that the appearance of a person’s name in records, emails, or contact lists does not by itself indicate wrongdoing or criminal conduct.

The testimony released by Congress focuses on Gates’ interactions with Epstein and his understanding of the relationship. Gates maintained throughout the hearing that he never participated in any illegal activity and was unaware of Epstein’s broader criminal conduct during their association.

The Bill Gates Blackmail Claim adds another chapter to ongoing efforts by lawmakers and investigators to examine the connections and influence networks surrounding Epstein. While Gates stated that no direct blackmail occurred, his testimony suggests that he believed Epstein may have considered using sensitive personal information as leverage.

As congressional reviews and public interest continue, the newly released testimony offers additional insight into one of the most closely watched relationships connected to the Epstein case. The documents also highlight Gates’ continued efforts to explain and address questions surrounding his past association with the disgraced financier.
