Police in Jackson, Mississippi, are searching for an armed suspect after two women and a toddler were found fatally shot inside a home on Saturday night. The triple homicide has shocked the local community as investigators continue working to determine what led to the deadly attack.

Officers with the Jackson Police Department responded to an emergency call reporting an aggravated assault at about 10:10 p.m. The incident occurred at a residence in the 300 block of Queen Alexandria Lane.

When officers arrived, they discovered three victims inside the home. Police said two women, both believed to be in their 20s, and a toddler had died from multiple gunshot wounds.

Jackson Police Chief RaShall Brackney confirmed the deaths during a news briefing. She described the incident as a triple homicide and said investigators immediately began processing the crime scene to collect evidence and identify the person responsible.

Authorities have not released the identities of the victims because family members are still being notified. Officials said they will provide additional information after the notification process has been completed.

Police believe the suspect fled the scene before officers arrived. The individual remains at large and is considered armed and dangerous. Investigators are urging residents to remain alert and avoid approaching anyone they believe may be connected to the case.

During the investigation, officers determined that a red 2020 Mitsubishi Mirage had been taken from the home during or after the shooting. Police issued an alert asking the public to watch for the missing vehicle while detectives continued searching for the suspect.

On Sunday, the Jackson Police Department announced that officers had located the vehicle in Manhattan Park in North Jackson. The car was found abandoned and unoccupied.

Investigators examined the vehicle for possible evidence that could help identify the suspect or establish the timeline of events surrounding the shooting. Authorities have not released details about what was recovered from the vehicle or whether it provided new leads.

Police said the investigation remains active, and detectives continue interviewing witnesses, reviewing evidence, and following up on tips from the public.

At this stage, officials have not announced a possible motive for the killings. They also have not confirmed whether the suspect was known to the victims or whether the attack was targeted.

The Jackson Police Department is asking anyone with information about the shooting or the suspect’s whereabouts to contact investigators immediately. Authorities believe even small details may help move the investigation forward.

Law enforcement officials say community cooperation often plays an important role in solving violent crimes. Witness statements, surveillance footage, and other information from nearby residents could assist detectives as they work to identify and arrest the person responsible.

Violent crime investigations typically involve collecting forensic evidence, examining ballistic material, reviewing electronic records, and interviewing people connected to the victims. Investigators will continue using all available resources as they work to build the case.

Police have increased patrols in the area while the search continues. Officials said public safety remains their highest priority and encouraged residents to report any suspicious activity that could be linked to the investigation.

The tragic deaths of two young women and a child have deeply affected the Jackson community. Local residents expressed sadness over the loss of life while hoping police quickly identify and arrest the suspect.

Authorities have not announced any arrests or named any persons of interest. Additional updates are expected as investigators gather more evidence and complete interviews.

Officials continue urging anyone with information to come forward as detectives work to determine exactly what happened inside the home on Saturday night. The investigation remains ongoing, and police say every new piece of information could help bring justice to the victims and their families.
