Patrick Clancy has opened up about the pain of losing his three children and the long path toward healing. Speaking in a recent interview, the father shared personal memories of Cora, Dawson and Callan while reflecting on the tragedy that changed his life forever.
Clancy said there was a period when he struggled to imagine a future for himself. The emotional weight of losing his children left him feeling lost and without direction.
He recalled that there were moments when he believed he might never recover from the grief. Yet over time, support from others and a commitment to honoring his children helped him continue moving forward.
The events leading up to the tragedy began after the birth of his youngest child, Callan, in 2022. Patrick said his former wife, Lindsay Clancy, experienced serious mental health challenges in the months that followed.
According to Patrick, Lindsay suffered from severe sleep problems, depression and intrusive thoughts. She visited emergency rooms multiple times and sought treatment through different medical programs.
She was later admitted to a psychiatric hospital for care. Patrick said he tried to support her while also caring for their family, but he often felt uncertain about how to handle such a complex situation.
He said mental illness can be deeply confusing and difficult to understand. Looking back, he believes many warning signs were connected to a serious health crisis.
In January 2023, the family experienced a devastating loss. Patrick returned home one day to discover that his children had been harmed. Cora and Dawson had died, while baby Callan was rushed to a hospital for emergency treatment.
Patrick said he remained hopeful that Callan would survive. During those difficult days, he focused on spending every possible moment with his youngest son.
Callan fought for several days before passing away. Patrick remembered holding his son and staying by his side during his final hours.
The loss of all three children left an emotional wound that remains with him today. Despite that pain, Patrick made a decision that surprised many people.
Soon after the tragedy, he publicly forgave Lindsay. He said many public comments about her focused only on blame and anger. While he acknowledged the seriousness of what happened, he believes severe mental illness played a major role in the events.
Patrick explained that forgiveness was a personal choice. He felt it was important for his own healing process and for preserving the memory of his family.
In the years that followed, he continued to face challenges beyond grief. Public attention surrounding the case grew as legal proceedings moved forward.
During Lindsay Clancy’s trial, the case sparked national discussion about postpartum mental health, criminal responsibility and healthcare treatment. The trial drew strong opinions from many people online.
Patrick became a target of online speculation and criticism. False claims circulated on social media, creating additional stress during an already painful period.
He said seeing misinformation spread about him was difficult. He worried that repeated false stories could influence how people viewed him and his family.
While testifying during the trial, Patrick experienced a severe panic attack. Medical workers transported him by ambulance, but he later returned to court and completed his testimony.
The trial ended earlier this month after jurors were unable to reach a unanimous verdict. A decision on future legal proceedings has not yet been made.
Today, Patrick says he is focused on rebuilding his life while keeping the memory of his children alive. He moved to New York City after the tragedy and gradually found support through friends, mental health experts and others who have experienced loss.
Earlier this year, he married Rachel Danis. The couple met in New York and developed a close relationship built on understanding and support.
They are now preparing to start a family together. Patrick said he looks forward to sharing stories about Cora, Dawson and Callan with future children.
He said every child has a unique place in a parent’s heart. Although his children are gone, their memories remain part of his everyday life. Patrick hopes future generations of his family will know who they were and understand how deeply they were loved.
