Meta has finalized the acquisition of the Chinese-founded AI start-up Manus. The company aims to strengthen its technology and expand AI applications. Meta said the deal will enhance both consumer and business products.

Analysts estimate a multi-billion dollar deal

Bloomberg and The Wall Street Journal valued the acquisition at over two billion dollars. Meta has not publicly confirmed the financial terms. The purchase highlights Manus’s strategic importance to Meta.

    AI agents take center stage

Meta said the acquisition will provide wider access to advanced digital agents. These agents can plan trips, create presentations, and handle complex tasks. Meta emphasized that the agents require minimal input from users.

Manus employees will join Meta’s teams immediately. The company plans to deploy general-purpose agents across platforms. Meta AI will integrate Manus technology into current and future products.

    Acquisition aligns with leadership vision

Barton Crockett of Rosenblatt Securities described the deal as a natural fit. He said it supports Mark Zuckerberg’s vision of personal AI. Meta continues to prioritize agent-driven technologies.

    Manus highlights autonomous capabilities

Manus now operates from Singapore after relocating from China. The company says its agents act independently, planning and completing tasks.

Many chatbots rely on repeated prompts from users. Manus says its system avoids that limitation. Its agents work proactively under clear instructions.

    Mission emphasizes human support

Manus said its goal is to extend human reach. The company said its agents assist rather than replace human work. Manus positions its technology as a productivity-enhancing tool.

    Founders welcome Meta partnership

Manus described the acquisition as validation of its strategy. Chief executive Xiao Hong praised the collaboration publicly. He said Meta provides a stronger and sustainable foundation.

Xiao Hong confirmed Manus will retain its operating model. Decision-making processes will remain unchanged. The company will continue developing products for its existing users.

    Meta strengthens AI footprint

Meta said it will continue operating and selling Manus AI services. The acquisition adds to Meta’s portfolio of high-profile AI investments. The company continues to target emerging start-ups.

    Previous investments underline expansion strategy

In June, Meta spent fourteen billion dollars for a 49 percent stake in Scale AI. The deal included bringing Scale AI’s chief executive into a senior Meta role. Zuckerberg has sharply increased AI spending.

Meta has also recruited talent from competitors such as OpenAI. The company aims to secure long-term leadership in next-generation artificial intelligence.
