Shortly after the strike, Iranian state media reported that Iran launched missiles toward US military facilities in Jordan.

The Jordanian military said its air defence systems intercepted eight missiles that entered the country’s airspace during the early hours of Monday. Officials stated that defensive measures were successful and prevented the missiles from reaching their intended targets.
No immediate reports of damage or casualties were released by Jordanian authorities.
The latest exchange represents a significant escalation between Washington and Tehran at a time when relations remain highly strained.
The United States had not publicly conducted military strikes inside Iran since President Donald Trump halted a renewed campaign in late July. Sunday’s operation therefore marks a major shift in military activity.
Larak Island has become increasingly important during the ongoing regional conflict. The island sits along the Strait of Hormuz, one of the busiest maritime routes in the world.
Before the conflict intensified, roughly one-fifth of global oil and liquefied natural gas supplies moved through the narrow waterway. Any disruption to traffic in the area has the potential to affect international energy markets.
