Manchester City will be without Rúben Dias for up to six weeks with a hamstring injury. The setback worsens Pep Guardiola’s defensive problems after Joško Gvardiol suffered a broken shinbone. City have just 13 fit senior outfield players and recalled academy defender Max Alleyne. The club is considering a move for Marc Guéhi to ease the shortage. City are also close to signing Antoine Semenyo, who is due a medical after his final Bournemouth appearance. Guardiola said injuries to several key players have stretched the squad but insisted City can cope.
