An electric streetcar derailed in Lisbon on Wednesday, killing at least 15 people and injuring 18 others. Portuguese television showed the yellow-and-white tram lying on its side along a narrow, steep hill road. Its roof and sides appeared partially crumpled. Dozens of emergency workers rushed to the scene to assist victims. The crash happened around 6 pm, during the evening rush hour. Local media reported authorities have not yet determined the cause of the derailment.
